If there’s one thing I know about Toronto, it’s this: our city is packed with vibrant and exciting neighbourhoods. While each area has its own distinct character, I’ve found that some provide a little bit of something for everyone. Leslieville is the perfect example. This east end community is a truly spectacular place to live, so it’s no surprise that clients from all walks of life have asked me about buying condos here.

Are you searching for the perfect unit in the ideal neighbourhood? If so, here are five reasons you might want to consider condo living in Leslieville…

1) The fantastic new condo buildings in Leslieville

There’s been a recent surge of incredible new condo buildings in Leslieville. One of my favourite developments is The Poet Condos, a six-storey gem on Queen Street East. In addition to other impressive amenities, the building features a rooftop terrace where residents can enjoy sitting by a fire while taking in the stunning city vista. Wonder Condos is also worth getting excited about. Located in the old Weston Bread Factory, the building will provide modern convenience while paying homage to Toronto history with a mix of hard and soft lofts.

2) The evolving culinary scene

If you’ve been to Leslieville lately, one thing you’ve probably noticed is the crop of new restaurants popping up. Featuring some of the best restaurants in Toronto, their presence is great news for those thinking of buying a condo in the area. I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of grabbing a flavourful meal in their own backyard? One of my favourite spots is Jules Bistro, a comfortable Queen East eatery that offers delectable Southern French fare. La Carnita is the local go-to for fresh and inventive Mexican food, while Brooklyn Tavern is the perfect place to satisfy your cravings for home cooking.

3) All your friends will want to visit

All too often, leaving the city’s core means preparing for the quality of your social life to drop. Not so if you’re living in Leslieville. Even friends who rarely set foot in the east end will want to check out your new digs if they’re in Toronto’s new “it” neighbourhood. Fortunately, owning a conveniently-located condo will ensure that you’re close to the action. Showing friends around will be a breeze—whether they’re into hitting the shops, tasting espresso, sipping cocktails, or perusing local food markets.

4) Home prices in Leslieville keep going up

Believe me when I say, investing in a Leslieville condo is a winning proposition. The area is still relatively affordable compared to some of Toronto’s other hot neighbourhoods, but property values have been on the rise. If you purchase a condo here, chances are good that you’ll receive a great return when it’s time to sell. For all of you investors out there, I can also say that the demand for Leslieville condos makes it a great place to rent out a unit.

5) Leslieville is perfect for families

Recently, I’ve had numerous clients ask me about buying a family condo in Leslieville. I’m not surprised. The neighbourhood is well known for its sense of community, access to green space, and child-friendly amenities (such as Sprouts and Lazy Daisy’s Café). I’m pleased to say that taking advantage of the kid-oriented lifestyle you can create in Leslieville is becoming easier than ever. Buildings like the Poet Condos are featuring units with more bedrooms and greater square footage—a necessity for many families.
